Emissions to the air

Emissions to the air Carbon dioxide (CO2) and nitrogen oxides (NOx) are produced from the combustion of fossil fuels, such as bunkers.

We aim to cut fuel consumption by our fleet in order to reduce the group’s impact on the global environment. The long-term ambition is a zero-emission operation, as symbolised by the Orcelle concept vessel, which utilises wind, solar and wave power.

See under related links (right) to find out more about how we:

  • reduce carbon emissions through fuel consumption
  • nitrogen emissions through fleet renewal and machinery optimisation
  • cut sulhur oxide emission by reducing sulphur content in bunkers
  • strive to minimise leaks from refrigeration and fire systems
