Innovation management

An international part-time management programme at master degree level. The programme Innovation Management in the Global Knowledge Economy is developed together with BI Norwegian School of Management.

1. Purpose and Objective
The maritime industry is changing rapidly, creating new demands for innovation and learning. Our ambition is to ensure continuous renewal in all parts of our maritime group. The aim is for people in the WW group to constantly think innovation and to be actively involved in the development of new technology as well as new processes and concepts.

This programme seeks to enhance know-
ledge on innovation, strategy, and manage-
ment; to develop skills in leadership and project development; to present industrial best practice, and to be an arena for networking across business units in the WW group.

Our aim is to:
Increase business opportunities across business units in the WW group.
Create a common approach to innovation that leads to better and smarter solutions and reduced time to market.
Attract talented people within and outside the WW group

2. Scope and Content
By studying the innovation clusters in Singapore and San Francisco we believe that we will learn from their innovative culture and their innovation speed. Prominent academics and practitioners from well-known companies will present common challenges and what it takes to successfully develop and implement innovation projects.

Each day and topic in this programme includes various external and internal speakers and lecturers. There will be a strong effort to combine lectures, group work, project work, company visits, formal discussions, informal networking events and self study.  Before entering the programme, each applicant has to hand in a project proposal, an innovative idea within the WW group. The proposal will be discussed and further developed during the programme through project groups. The best projects will be chosen for further development after the end of the programme

3. Target Group
For this programme we are looking for talented people within the WW group, people from different countries, cultures and companies, bringing different experiences, knowledge and ideas. They may be our future leaders; and they are definitely important to the WW group.
