Group profit before tax and minority interests was USD 312.3 million in 2009, compared with USD 32.2 million in 2008, positively impacted by net financial gains of USD 72.4 million (loss of USD 211.0 million).

Net financials improved primarily on the back of un-realised gains on financial instruments and gains on the financial investment portfolio.
