    A new amendment to Notice to Mariners No. 148 Version 2 in Fujairah Port dated 26th October 2017 related to vessel condition survey by port prior STS ops.

    A new amendment to Notice to Mariners No. 148 Version 2 in Fujairah Port dated 26th October 2017.
    The Port of Fujairah Authorities have issued notice to mariners, informing that ships undergoing ship to ship doing oil cargo operations should pass a safety inspection.
    This regulation is conducted by Port Authority to make sure all ships are in good condition to handle S.T.S oil cargo operation.

    New restriction to Micronesia International Ship Registry

    Port Authority of Fujairah have announced restriction to Micronesia International Ship Registry (#NTM 230). As per Circular dated 06 February 2017, issued by the Maritime Cook Islands: The Federal States of Micronesia is not a ship registry and does not issue seafarer certificates. Therefore, vessels with Micronesia International Ship Registry or crew on board holding seafarer certificates issued by the Federal States of Micronesia are not allowed to call Port of Fujairah and Fujairah Offshore Anchorage. Furthermore, ban will not affect to port operations and berthing delay at Port of Fujairah.

    Parana River, Argentina

    Oil Workers Federation strike action at the Argentina Ports.

    Strike has been commenced by Oil Workers Federation in Argentina:
    • San Lorenzo Port Oil Workers Union will not join the protest. Therefore, all terminals at  San Lorenzo Port will operate in normal conditions.
    • Rosario Port strike activities were commenced yesterday, on 26th October at 1800 hrs LT. Strike will affect to piers at Rosario area: Dreyfus General Lagos, Cargill Alvear and V.G.G.

    Woodfibre, Canada

    Current gas prices delays construction of LNG terminal.

    Woodfibre LNG company in British Columbia has announced delay of construction of its first export liquefied natural gas and export terminal due to low gas prices.

    The RGE Group has informed that 1.3 billion USD worth project has been postponed to 2018. The already complete part of the project includes front-end engineering and design for the facility. The next stage will consist of engineering , procurement and construction works. 

    The Woodfibre LNG Project is located approximately 7 km west-southwest of Squamish, British Columbia. Terminal will have the storage capacity of  250,000 m3 and will generate approximately 2.1 million tonnes per year of LNG.

    Australian Ports

    The current situation overview at main Australian grain terminals.

    Berth outage schedule for October 2017:

    • CBH Geraldton berth no.1 will be unavaiable mid afternoon 29th October until mid morning 30th October due to surge operations,
    • CBH Esperance berth no.1 will be unavailable on 24th November and 25th November due to non grain vessel loading.

    Grain terminals in Adelaide (Outer Harbour no.8), Albany (CHB no.3), Port Lincoln (Vittera no.4 & no.5), Kwinana (CHB Grain Jetty), Wallaroo (Vittera no.2), Port Giles (Viterra Grain Loading Jetty), Portland (Graincorp KSA no.1), Geelong (Bulk Grain Pier no.3), Melbourne (ABA - Appelton Dock), Port Kembla (Graincorp berth no.104), Newcastle (Graincorp Carrington W. Basin), Brisbane (Fisherman Island and Queensland Bulk Terminal), Gladstone (Graincorp Auckland Pt#2) and Mackay (Graincorp no.5) remain operational with no closures pending.
