The Opera & Ballet Prize

The Opera and Ballet award was first established in 2009 and is awarded annually by the Tom Wilhelmsen Foundation.

The prize of 600.000 Norwegian kroner goes to talented performers within opera or ballet in Norway, who have made an outstanding artistic or administrative achievement. The prize money awarded is intended for further professional development. The Opera and Ballet advisory board consists of Ellen Horn, Anne Gjevang. and Stine Østvold Aamodt.

2009 - Maiko Nishino Ekeberg and Eli Kristin Hanssveen

Maiko Nishino Ekeberg and Eli Kristin Hanssveen were the first artists to receive the Tom Wilhelmsen Foundation’s Opera & Ballet Prize.
2010 - Silas Henriksen

Silas Henriksen was the second recipient of the Tom Wilhelmsen Foundation Opera and Ballet Prize.
2011 - Marita Kvarving Sølberg

Marita Kvarving Sølberg was the third recipient of the Tom Wilhelmsen Foundation Opera and Ballet Prize.
2012 - Yngve Søberg and Eugenie Skilnand

Yngve Søberg and Eugenie Skilnand were the fourth recipients of the Tom Wilhelmsen Foundation Opera and Ballet Prize.

2013 - Audun Iversen and Camilla Spidsøe Cohen

Audun Iversen and Camilla Spidsøe Cohen were the fifth recipients of the Tom Wilhelmsen Foundation Opera and Ballet Prize.
2014 - Yolanda Correa

The Norwegian National Opera Orchestra was the eighth recipient of the Tom Wilhelmsen Foundation Opera and Ballet Prize.

2017 - Melissa Hough and Adrian Angelico

Melissa Hough and Adrian Angelico were the ninth recipients of the Tom Wilhelmsen Foundation Opera and Ballet Prize.
2018 - John Lidal and Alan Lucien Øyen

John Lidal and Alan Lucien Øyen were the tenth recipients of the Tom Wilhelmsen Foundation Opera and Ballet Prize.
2019 - Grete Sofie Borud Nybakken
