WManager 1-2024
We present to you our bi-annual WManager issue for 2024. We acknowledge the remarkable contributions of women in our historically male-dominated maritime industry. In this issue, we are highlighting eight remarkable women from Wilhelmsen Ship Management who are breaking barriers and making their mark in the industry, along with their inspirational quotes.
In other news, our Sustainability Report for 2023 is now available. In this issue, we highlight our Sustainability Ambition and Strategic Targets, and several key figures from the report, including 47% women in the top three management levels and internal boards, which exceeded our target of 30%.
On the decarbonisation front, we hosted the Silk Alliance Workshop and Cocktail Reception as part of Singapore Maritime Week. Silk Alliance, a green corridor cluster initiative in Asia, is established by the Lloyd’s Register Maritime Decarbonisation Hub. We engaged with subject matter experts from financial institutions to gain their perspectives on the green transition, providing an excellent platform for collaboration and further propelling efforts towards a sustainable future for our maritime industry.
In the first half of 2024, we have been giving back to the local communities in which we operate. In the Philippines, we joined hands with our customer, Golden Ocean, to revitalize a neglected piece of land and cultivate it into a thriving community vegetable garden. In Malaysia, together with our employees, we organized a shopping trip for children during Ramadan and an Eid celebration at the children's home.
