The International Maritime Organization (IMO) decided to reduce Green House Gas emissions, with a goal of reducing emissions by 50% in 2050.
New regulations to reduce CO2 emissions from shipping was agreed upon at the IMO Marine Environment Protection Committee 76th session (MEPC 76).
The new regulations will come into effect on 1 January 2023.
Our solution for meeting EEXI requirements and CII calculations
In order to achieve compliance before the deadlines, we recommend that owners start their process to get their ships certified for EEXI and calculate CII at the same time to be prepared for upcoming regulation.
Our team of technical experts are ready to assist owners in any options they chose to comply with the requirements.
Supporting you in reduction of emission by installation of EPL device
Our scope of services includes documentation collection, follow up, co-operating with engine manufacturers on EPL, arranging surveys by class society and related processes in demonstrating compliance with MEPC 76 requirements related to EEXI.
EEXI Calculation and Compliance
- • EEXI calculation and EEXI technical file preparation
• Improving EEXI for non-compliant ships by installation of Engine Power Limitation (EPL) system
• Onboard Management Manual preparation
CII Calculation and Improvement
- • Carbon Intensity Indicator (CII) assessment based on IMO DCS reported data (rating of vessel)
• Possible means of improvement of CII by both technical and operational means
Other options in reduction of ship emission
For owners that have choosen alternative options other than EPL to meet the EEXI requirements (e.g. energy saving devices or lower carbon fuels), detailed calculations will be assessed on a case by case basis due to a number of variables and complexity.
A tailored plan should be made to fit your unique requirements. With depth of retrofitting experience, our technical experts provide practical input from ship operation perspective to ensure that your interests are always protected and represented throughout the process to achieve compliance.
