WManager 1-2023

Wilhelmsen Ship Management's in-house magazine
News | (Updated )

Introducing our latest WManager edition featuring the remarkable Michela Sasdelli, honored as one of the "10 Women to Watch" by YoungShip Oslo & Nor-Shipping. Congratulations, Michela, on this outstanding achievement!

In this issue, we highlight our participation in Nor-Shipping, a significant event in the maritime industry, where we showcased our expertise, networked with industry leaders, and explored new opportunities. Our focus on environmental compliance and seafarer rights was at the forefront during the event.

The Seafarer's Right Code of Conduct aims to ensure the rights and welfare of seafarers in the shipping industry. It goes beyond compliance with international conventions, focusing on valuing seafarers and their human rights. The code addresses systemic risks and emphasizes the enforcement of rights in the Maritime Labour Convention (MLC).

We have partnered with Affinity Shipping to establish an independent company, Hecla Emission Management offering comprehensive compliance services for the EU ETS.  This unique service combines technical ship management and carbon allowance procurement, supporting shipowners, managers, and operators in meeting emissions compliance requirements.

Discover more in this issue about our philanthropy projects, customers' seminars, and officers' conferences. Plus, don't miss the winning recipes from the Norshipping food recipe competition – Chicken Fingers and Vegetarian Biryanis – for you to try tonight!
